EXPERIMENTAL WATERMEDIA

These 3 EXPERIMENTAL WATERMEDIA pieces are part of 5 works displayed at the
2 ARCHERS ART GALLERY in Dunedin.

EXPERIMENTAL WATERMEDIA means I did not know what I was doing when I began them,
I let the painting evolve and 'take me' where it wanted to go, I was just experimenting with textures and watermedia and just let It happen.

WATERMEDIA - Watermedia is a collective term for water-based media, such as acrylic inks,
watercolor paints, water-based crayons, watercolor pencils, acrylics, etc.

TEXTURES - Anything goes here. Saran Wrap, stamps, stencils, textured wallpaper samples, fancy papers, tissue paper, lace----the list of texture goods is as long as your imagination and spirit of 'why not ?' Sometimes the paper toweling leaves their marks on the painted paper and sometimes the paper toweling becomes a beautiful piece of art in and of itself, as seen adhered to "THE SILK ROAD PURSE" # 3 painting - Yes, the gold purse is a painted paper towel. In the center painting I used tape to get the various colors in straight lines and left a couple pieces of the tape on there, which now made "MA, IN A LINEAR WORLD" a mixed-media piece.
